FIA WEC, Austin: double podium for AF Corse Ferrari 488s in GTE Pro. The leadership is continuing for AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #83 in GTE Am

AF Corse Ferrari 488s take a double podium in the 6 Hours of COTA (Circuit of the Americas) in Austin, sixth event in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). In GTE Pro category, Gianmaria Bruni and James Calado are second under the chequered flag in their 488 #51; Davide Rigon and Sam Bird are third with the 488 #71. Reliability of cars, performance of the drivers and perfect strategy of the team (decisive in two Full Course Yellows when the cars have to keep to 80 km/h even on the track) lead to a very important double podium.
In GTE Am, François Perrodo, Emmanuel Collard and Rui Aguas have the sixth position in their AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #83 continuing to lead the GTE Am Driver Trophy in the championship. Starting from penultimate position, the trio were punished by a series of mishaps from which it failed to recover. The car could inly hold onto sixth but still took some useful points for a championship. The drivers trio are first in championship with 137 points, 33 points more than second-placed. The same is in GTE Am Team classification where AF Corse has the first position with 137 points (+33)
In GT Manufactures standing, Ferrari is second with 209 points, just -9 from Aston Martin. In GT Drivers Cup, Rigon and Bird are second (97 points, -12 from the top position), Bruni and Calado fourth with 80. AF Corse is second in GTE Pro Team championship with 97 points (-12).
