FIA WEC / The triumphs
Three; this number has reappeared several times. Three are the titles won by Ferrari, AF Corse, Gianmaria Bruni and Toni Vilander in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Three are the years since, consecutively, these parts of the same "soul" have won the World titles in GT Constructors, GTE Pro Team, GT Drivers.
On balance, no one won as much as the AF Corse Ferrari 458 #51 in the FIA WEC. And as if it was not not enough to illustrate the supremacy in the FIA World Endurance Championship, it has also put the "24 Hours of Le Mans" to emphasize it. In the 2014 edition of the most famous race in the world, Gimmi, Toni and Giancarlo Fisichella won in the GT class, engraving their success in motor-sport memory. A maximum result that doubles the other first position gained in 2012. Even then, the drivers were the same. Even then, the car was the AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #51. The synthesis is indisputable: for three years now in the FIA WEC, Ferrari and AF Corse have won everything. To underline also the second places in 2015 both in the FIA WEC and in the "24 Hours of Le Mans".
“The 2014 was another great year for Ferrari and AF Corse pair: together we won for the third consecutive year the FIA WEC, winning all the titles available: Constructors, Drivers and Teams - said Antonello Coletta, head of Competizioni GT and Ferrari Corse Clienti - The reliability of the 458 GTE, the work in the pits and the preparation of the cars by AF Corse, the great commitment of the drivers and the ability to work together have been the keys to the success and confirm the leadership in the GT class. During the season, we won a lot of races and were almost always on the podium with both GTE Pro squads. I want to remind the victory of the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, an affirmation that alone is worth an entire season and summarizes the significant teamwork necessary to achieve these objectives. I conclude thanking Amato Ferrari and his team: thanks also to all these people, Ferrari continues to be at the top of the category. Let's enjoy together this wonderful success and well-deserved rest; in a few days will start the new season. We must be focused and motivated to confirm the results”.
Since 2006, Ferrari and AF Corse won more than anyone else in the GT world, at first with the F430 and now with the 458 Italia. "Behind the great successes that we have had the privilege to live in the years – said Amato Ferrari, team principal of AF Corse - there is a strong and constant choral work, tirelessly. A generous effort in which we are not the only one involved. AF Corse is part of a triple whole which also includes Ferrari Competizioni GT and Michelotto Automobili. We are three distinct groups that become one on the track. With only one thought: victory. More than words, as shown by the results. "
“This last one has been, once again, a really great season and I can only thank AF Corse, Ferrari and my team mate Toni for it – Gianmaria Bruni said-. I think our victory is the result of the fantastic and hard work we try to do together. We are all engaged for the same goal. AF Corse, Ferrari, Michelotto and drivers are a group that make this happen. Amato Ferrari is a unique person in the motor-sport world that moves everything with passion and strenght. Without him I would't had the opportunity to say these words. I hope we can continue to win together in 2015”.
“Thank You very much to everyone involved in our racing activities. What an incredible year 2014 – quoted by Toni Vilander -. In the FIA WEC we won four out of eight races. Victories in Spa, Le Mans, Fuji and Bahrein shows all our qualities as a team. Amato Ferrari managed once again to lead his team to great results. A team that I’m very proud of being part of since 2007. AF Corse for me represents passion, friendship and hard work. Thank you also to Ferrari, Michelotto and Michelin. Each year it takes a long preparation for the season and once again we had a strong, fast and reliable car.We all know the qualities of Gimmi Bruni. Once I had the confirmation that we are going to race together in 2014 season: I knew we had the possibility to fight for the victory. And we did it in great style. This was a year to remember: finally thank you to our sponsors and specially all the fans all around the world. Your support means a lot. AF Corse story continues strong”.
