FIA WEC: Bird and Rigon win at Spa in the AF Corse Ferrari 488 #71. Second place in GTE Am for Perrodo, Collard and Aguas

The AF Corse Ferrari #71, driven By Davide Rigon and Sam Bird, won the 6 Hours of Spa in the GTE Pro category gaining its second success in a row in the Fia World Endurance Championship (WEC). The 488 #71 fought for the first place from the very beginning with the AF Corse Ferrari 488 #51 of Gianmaria Bruni and James Calado. With only ten minutes remaining in the race, a technical issue hit the 51 car – when it was first in GTE Pro - obliging to retire in the garage.

In GTE Am category, second place for François Perrodo, Emmanuel Collard and Rui Aguas in their AF Corse 458 Italia #83.

In the GT drivers championship standing, Rigon and Bird are first with 52 points, the best score possible until now. Bruni and Calado have the third position (18 points). In the GTE Am drivers standing, Perrodo, Collard and Aguas are second (43 points). Ferrari is in first among the GT Manufactures (78), AF Corse has the lead in the GTE Pro Team standing (52) and the second place in the GTE Am Team (43).

The next meeting is the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 18-19 June.
