ELMS / Le Mans Series: AF Corse and the victories
AF Corse is the undisputed leader of the 2011 Le Mans Series (LMS). Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria Bruni won the Drivers title with a race in advance in the GTE Pro category. AF Corse is the champion among the team: the margin between the Italian team and the second in the classification is very wide.
The double victory in the Le Mans Series, moreover, came with a car at the debut: the Ferrari 458 Italia is the new GT2 of the Cavallino brand.
Of the five scheduled races, Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria Bruni won two events (Spa and Silverstone), they finished in the second position in another two races (Imola and Paul Ricard). At the end of the championship, they had 60 points against the 46 of the second crew in the standings. The same goes for AF Corse in the Team standing.
In addition to these titles, there is also the brilliant second place of the GTE Am category thanks to Piergiuseppe Perazzini and Marco Cioci on Ferrari 430 GT2. The duo were protagonist of the 2012 Le Mans Series with the new Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 GTE Am category. Also in this season, they took the second place in the championship.
