FIA WEC, Spa: avalanche of victories and podium for the Ferrari 458 Italia GT2

SPA, May 5th – Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria Bruni in the No. 51 AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 won the “6 Hours of Spa” (GTE Pro category); Kamui Kobayashi and Toni Vilander were third (GTE Pro) in their No.71 AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia GT2; Enzo Potolicchio, Rui Aguas and Matteo Malucelli took their No. 81 8Star Motorsports 458 Italia GT2 (managed by AF Corse) to the first step on the podium (GTE Am category). A stratospheric result to the second race of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

SILVERSTONE, April 14 – Kamui Kobayashi celebrated his debut race in the N°71 AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 with a podium finish in association with Toni Vilander (FIN).

Ferrari wins the GT constructors’ championship, AF Corse takes GTE Pro Team title. A stratospheric outcome to the Bahrain 6 Hours, the sixth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship. With two races in hand, the team has taken the titles in the most important international championship for GT and Prototype cars, aimed at reviving the spectacle of the great marques, absent for some time. Giancarlo Fisichella and Toni Vilander, the latter for this race only standing in for usual team-mate Gianmaria Bruni, beat the rest of the GTE Pro field, taking their Ferrari to a fourth consecutive win: this great run began with the Le Mans 24 Hours, continuing in Silverstone, Interlagos and now Bahrain.

Sao Paolo, September 16th - Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria Bruni win Sao Paolo 6 Hours for AF Corse in Ferrari 458 Italia GT2. The Italian crew drove a perfect race, with no mistakes. Having started from third on the grid, Fisichella and Bruni gradually moved up the order in this the fifth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, in Brazil.
