The FIA WEC moves to Mexico with Ferrari and AF Corse leaders in GT

Following the first and second spots in the “Six Hours of Nuerburgring” for the AF Corse Ferrari 488s (GTE Pro category), the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) moves to Mexico for its six-hours race.
Looking at the championship standings, Ferrari is leading the GT Manufactures with 146 points (Aston Martin is second, 138). AF Corse has the first position in GTE Am with 111 (41 points ahead of Aston Martin Racing) and the second spot among the GTE Pro Team with 70 points (Ford Chip Ganassi is le- ading with 72).

One-two for the AF Corse Ferrari 488s in the 6 hours of Nuerburgring, round 4 of the Fia World Endu- rance Championship (Wec). In addition of the two top spots in GTE Pro category gained by the 488 #51 and #71, the second step on GTE Am podium for the AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #83.

Second position in the 24 hours of Le Mans 2016, GTE Am category, for François Perrodo, Emmanuel Collard and Rui Aguas in their AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #83.

AF Corse will field four Ferrari in the 24 hours of Le Mans, June 18th and 19th, between both GT category (LMGTE Pro and LMGTE Am). In addition, AF Corse – the only one Italian team in the most famous race in the world – will manage technically the cars of Formula Racing and Clearwater Racing teams. The 24 hours of Le Mans is round 3 of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and awards double points.

The AF Corse Ferrari #71, driven By Davide Rigon and Sam Bird, won the 6 Hours of Spa in the GTE Pro category gaining its second success in a row in the Fia World Endurance Championship (WEC). The 488 #71 fought for the first place from the very beginning with the AF Corse Ferrari 488 #51 of Gianmaria Bruni and James Calado. With only ten minutes remaining in the race, a technical issue hit the 51 car – when it was first in GTE Pro - obliging to retire in the garage.
