    AF CORSE WON TEAM AND DRIVER TITLES OF THE LE MANS SERIES WITH FERRARI 458 ITALIA

     
     

    SILVERSTONE, September 13rd - Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria Bruni won the driver's trophy with their Ferrari 458 Italia; thanks to this victory AF Corse won the manufacturer title in the same GTE Pro category. AF Corse is back from Silverstone, the fourth round of the Le Mans Series, with a double victory in the most difficult continental championship for GT cars and prototypes. Not only: Ferrari won the manufacturers' title with a race in advance.


    "It’s the second time we have taken part to the  Le Mans Series and it’s a fantastic winning. This thanks to a fantastic performance of our driver, thanks to the Ferrari 458 Italia, new car but already powerful, and thanks to an optimal feeling with Michelin tyres. I'm  proud of what we have shown”.


     

    The 458 driven by  Fisichella Bruni was not the only car on the track of Silverstone for AF Corse. Piergiuseppe Perazzini, Marco Cioci and Stephane Lemeret strengthened their second position in GTE Am on Ferrari 430 GT2; they have the chance to gain  points enough to win the championship during the last race, in Estoril. At the end of the English race, they finished in  fifth place. In the team classification of GTE Am, Amato Ferrari’s team is second.


    The other AF Corse Ferrari 458 car, driven by Toni Vilander e Jaime Melo, had to withdraw for technical problem.

    The race in Silverstone was also the fifth event of the Intercontinental Cup. AF Corse is leader  of this championship as well. Ferrari is in first position followed by BMW.
