AF CORSE WON THE INTERCONTINENTAL LE MANS CUP WITH FISICHELLA AND BRUNI ON 458 ITALIA. FERRARI AT THE TOP OF THE CONSTRUCTORS
ZHUHAI - AF Corse won the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup with Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria Bruni on Ferrari 458 Italia GT2. At the end of the race at Zhuhai (China), last event in the calendar, the Italian team is the champion of the prestigious International competition: the new title arrives after the recent victory of the le Mans Series always with the two Roman drivers. The season is brilliant and winnig for the Amato Ferrari’s team.
AF Corse, with 108 points, can be confirmed at the top of the competition dominated by the second race forward. Ferrari won the constructors' championship with 171 points.
As for the Chinese single race, the Ferrari number 51 finished fifth. A problem at the first pit stop slowed the perfomance of Fisico and Bruni. The team opted for a conservative race strategy, miniminzing the risks. The fifth position, thanks to the wide margin accumulated during the season (+14 points before the last race) allowed the victory of the difficult championshio, the highest expression for the GT and prototype cars.
