FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC): three Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 for AF Corse team, the champion of the GTE Pro category. In the most important competition for GT cars and prototypes, this will be the only italian team to line up with two 458 Italia GT2 in the GTE Pro and one in the GTE Am.
GTE Pro - At the wheel of the Ferrari 458 No. 51 will be Giancarlo Fisichella and Gianmaria Bruni, the pair who dominated the last season of the WEC. The Roman duo, in 2012, demonstrated a pace that couldn’t be matched. Notably the victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours (GTE Pro), highlight of the last season. The most recent addition to the Ferrari and AF Corse family, the Japanese Kamui Kobayashi directly arrived from the F1, will drive the 458 No. 71. To share the car the Finnish Toni Vilander, winner of the race of La Sarthe in 2012 together with Fisichella and Bruni.
GTE Am – In the GTE Am, Jack Gerber, Marco Cioci and Matt Griffin will captain the Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 No. 61. Each one in the past has shown great potential and ability to place on the podium, time after time. The South African Gerber is a driver with great experience in the GT cars; Cioci and Griffin, Italian and Irish respectively, are two specialists with many victories behind them.
In both GT categories, the AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia use Michelin tyres.
AF Corse will also manage the 8Star Motorsport Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 engaged in the GTE Am.
The first green light of the FIA WEC 2013 will be at Silvestone, April 14th, with the six hour race in this British temple of speed.
