BARCELONA, November 2nd – Giorgio Roda won the GTS Driver title and Claudio Sdanewitsch took the Gentleman Trophy. Barcelona’s round, last event of the GT Open International, delivered the double great verdict for both drivers. These two perfomances are new important outcome for Ferrari and AF Corse: to highlight that Ferrari won in advance of the end the GTS Manufactures’ title and the same was for the team of Amato Ferrari (champion in GTS category some race ago). Roda, in the AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #56, is champion of the GTS in the year of his debut: this fact adds prestige to the results achieved. Sdanewitsch is a very fast gentleman driver: the last title in his AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #55 is the new demonstration.
RACE 1 – Roda and Marco Cioci (who replaced Paolo Ruberti, engaged in Shanghai for the FIA WEC) finished 4th in GTS. The position is determining and delivered the title in the hands of Giorgio. Duncan Cameron and Matt Griffin were 6th in their AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #54. Sdanewitsch, together with Federico Leo (who during the season alternated Michele Rugolo) ended 8th in GTS but 1st in the Gentleman Trophy. Even in this case, the result in the first Spanish race meant the title. Nikita Zlobin and Luca Persiani were 9th in GTS with the Ferrari 458 Italia #79.
RACE 2 – Roda and Cioci finished with the 2nd spot in GTS and the podium. Cameron and Griffin took the chequered flag in 4th. Sdanewitsch and Leo were 10th. Withdrawal for Zlobin and Persiani.
Thanks to the new titles, the successes in the GT Open International for Ferrari and AF Corse continue to increase, season by season.
