The FIA WEC finished with a podium in Bahrain

The podium of the AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #51 closed the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) 2015. Gianmaria Bruni and Toni Vilander led a perfect race and, with the right strategy with fast pit stops, took the chequered flag in second position among the GTE Pro cars in the “6 Hours of Bahrain”. Following the GT Drivers title in 2014, this year the duo is vice-champion.

The race of the AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #71, driven by Davide Rigon and James Calado, was affected by bad luck. Calado started fast from the 7th position on the grid and the #71 gained the podium positions. The third pit stop came at just over the halfway mark and at that point something went wrong with car #71, which lost its left front tyre four laps from the pit stop. Davide Rigon went straight back to the box to limit the damage but the 458 Italia #71 resumed in sixth.

In GTE Am category, 4th spot for François Perrodo, Emmanuel Collard and Matteo Cressoni (who replaced the injured Rui Aguas) in their AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia 83. The season of these driver is very positive. The confirmation also arrives thanks to the second position in the GTE Drivers standing for Perrodo and Collard.

Ferrari is second in the GT Manufactures Championship and AF Corse is second both in the GTE Pro Team and GTE Am standings.

To highlight the great results of the AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia in the GTE Pro category of the FIA WEC: in four years of the world championship, Ferrari won three GT Manufactures titles (2012, 2013, 2014) and as many titles AF Corse won in the GTE Pro Team (2012, 2013, 2014). The drivers of the Ferrari 458 Italia #51 (Bruni together with Giancarlo Fisichella in 2012; Bruni joined by Fisichella and Vilander in 2013; Bruni and Vilander in 2014) always won the GT Drivers class. And there are two victories in the “24 Hours of Le Mans” for the AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #51 with Bruni, Fisichella and Vilander, in 2012 and 2014
