The FIA WEC moves to Mexico with Ferrari and AF Corse leaders in GT

Following the first and second spots in the “Six Hours of Nuerburgring” for the AF Corse Ferrari 488s (GTE Pro category), the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) moves to Mexico for its six-hours race. Looking at the championship standings, Ferrari is leading the GT Manufactures with 146 points (Aston Martin is second, 138). AF Corse has the first position in GTE Am with 111 (41 points ahead of Aston Martin Racing) and the second spot among the GTE Pro Team with 70 points (Ford Chip Ganassi is le- ading with 72).

In the GTE Am Drivers Trophy, François Perrodo, Emmanuel Collard and Rui Aguas have solidly the top with 111 points ( +41 points ) in their AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia #83.

In the GT Drivers Cup, Davide Rigon and Sam Bird are in second spot with the AF Corse Ferrari 488 #71 thanks to 70 points (two points away from the top of the classification). Gianmaria Bruni and James Calado (AF Corse Ferrari 488 #51) have the eighth place with 44 points; their position in the GT Drivers Cup was affected by the unfortunate events of Spa and Le Mans.

The race at the Hermanos Rodriguez track, in Mexico City, is scheduled to begin at 13.30 local time on Saturday 3rd September.
